Our Story

We knew each other in high school, though we were nothing more than friends, or acquaintances, even. But, you could say our story sort of began when we became partners in chemistry lab, where Jake’s primary strategy for getting his work done was copying Izzy's assignments almost every day.

Years later, we reconnected while Jake was in grad school at Clarkson and we were both back in the North Country. Jake walked into it claiming he "didn't do serious relationships"... but that didn't last long. By the end of 2022, he was officially the plus-one to both Sarah and Sophie's weddings, and we’ve been inseparable ever since.

We made the big move to Michigan in 2023, and over the last few years, we’ve built a life we love with our dogs, Harvey and Lola.

The proposal happened on August 22nd while biking around Mackinac Island. We stopped by the water to take in the view of the Mackinac Bridge, and just as we were getting ready to hop back on the bikes, Jake got down on one knee.

Above all, we just make each other laugh. Whether we're making dinner together, going to hockey games, driving through Canada back to New York with a good playlist, or spending a night at home with a movie and a bottle (or two) of wine, we truly just have the best time together.

We are so excited to celebrate our love and this next chapter with our favorite people!
